Teaching happiness not only boosts your immune system but it also relieves stress (one of the leading causes of mental ill health in the UK) and offers lessons in emotional intelligence whilst promoting resilience and resourcefulness.
Most people think of Emotional Intelligence as simply an ability to read others, but it’s much more than that. It’s also about how we react to different situations and how we self-regulate.
Our world is changing faster than ever before and so we need to better prepare our next generations so that they can manage those changes with a positive mind-set. Happiness is crucial to behaviour because feeling happy enables us to be more productive and have the motivation to pursue our goals in life. Research has shown that the largest determinant of our happiness actually comes from our own mental, emotional and physical habits. It is these habits and behaviours that then create the body chemistry (serotonin) that determines our happiness level. This is good news for us, because it means we have control over our happiness.
At Happy Kids we work hard to create products and programmes that place happiness and emotional intelligence at the heart of everything that we do. Neuroscience has discovered through the study of Neuro-plasticity that our brains can be physically changed.
Like plasticine, with the right education, tools and support, we can mould our brains by simply changing our thinking, perceptions and having new experiences.
Our Happy Kids project sees the development of products and programmes that take our young people on a journey of self-discovery; whilst learning about their brain and building skills for life. Using findings from modern-day research in Behavioural Science and Positive Psychology we enable young people to create happier, healthier behaviours that can last a life-time.
Ask us about our Habits to Happiness Kids programme. It is a fun and engaging module based programme, with a ‘pick and mix’ style approach to suit your needs. In it we explore tools and techniques that will help the young people to over-ride the negatives and develop happier habits over time. Contact us for a full breakdown of the modules we offer.
